Course Overview

Our Advanced Course is designed for players across the 1300–2000 range on Lichess and Chess.com who are ready to take chess seriously. Whether you are building toward your first FIDE rating or pushing into the 2000s, this program provides the structured, in-depth training needed to make that leap.

The curriculum covers advanced opening preparation, complex endgame theory, positional sacrifices, and middlegame strategy — including planning, position evaluation, and understanding critical structural themes like outpost squares, weak squares, Isolated Queen Pawns, and Pawn Islands.

By the end of this course, students will be on the verge of achieving their FIDE rating, equipped with the technical depth and practical skills to compete confidently in rated events. The subsequent Master Course then prepares students for the Title Achieving Path.

Course Structure

Module 1: Deep Opening Preparation (Weeks 1–7)

Construct a master-level repertoire with engine-backed analysis and deep structural understanding for both White and Black.

Module 2: Advanced Endgames (Weeks 8–14)

Bishop & Knight Checkmate, Lucena & Philidor rook endgames, complex minor piece endgames, and the art of endgame defence.

Module 3: Positional Sacrifices & Calculation (Weeks 15–21)

When to sacrifice material for long-term compensation, systematic calculation methods, and candidate move selection.

Module 4: Middlegame Strategy & Pawn Structure (Weeks 22–28)

Planning, position evaluation, outpost squares, weak squares, Isolated Queen Pawns, Pawn Islands, and structural transformations.

Module 5: Competitive Preparation (Weeks 29–32)

Tournament preparation, game analysis, time management under pressure, and building the mindset for FIDE-rated events.

Road to FIDE Rating

This course prepares students to achieve their FIDE rating. After completing the Advanced Course, students move on to the Master Course, where training is focused on the Title Achieving Path.

Course Structure

Module 1: Calculation & Candidate Moves

Master systematic calculation to 4–5 moves depth using Kotov's method, forcing-sequence ordering, and blindspot elimination.

Module 2: Deep Opening Preparation

Build a theoretically complete repertoire with understanding of critical lines, anti-system weapons, move-order tricks, and opponent-specific preparation.

Module 3: Advanced Positional Chess

Elevate your positional understanding: prophylaxis, structural transformations, the minority attack, and long-term positional sacrifices.

Module 4: Complex Endgames

Win technically difficult endings: rook + pawn endings, good vs. bad bishop, opposite-coloured bishops, and knight vs. bishop technique.

Module 5: Tournament Preparation

Compete at your best: time management under pressure, building a personal error database from your games, and pre-tournament opponent research.
